Before you start any commercial job or major residential install, you probably jot down a quick safety plan—hazards to watch for, PPE needed, lockout steps, client warnings. But it's easy to overlook something when you're in a rush. AI can act as your safety reviewer, scanning your plan and spotting gaps, ambiguous steps, or missing hazards you didn't think of. **Step 1:** Write out your basic safety plan for the job—include the work location, tasks involved, known hazards, lockout/tagout steps, PPE requirements, and any client/crew warnings. **Step 2:** Paste your plan into ChatGPT or Claude and ask it to review for missing hazards, unclear steps, or anything that could cause confusion on-site. **Step 3:** Review the AI's feedback. It might flag things like missing arc flash warnings, unclear lockout procedures, or forgetting to mention overhead hazards. **Step 4:** Add the missing items or clarify vague steps in your plan. **Step 5:** Run the updated plan through AI one more time as a final check, asking it to confirm the plan is complete and easy to follow. **Step 6:** Print or save the reviewed plan and bring it to the job. You'll feel more confident knowing a second set of eyes caught what you might have missed.
