This workflow helps you spot confusing medical terms, overly complex sentences, or missing steps that might leave patients confused at home. In just a few minutes, you can turn a clinically accurate HEP into one that patients will actually follow. 1. Copy your draft home exercise program instructions (names of exercises, sets, reps, and descriptions) into ChatGPT or Claude. Do not include any patient names or personal details. 2. Ask AI to identify the reading level of your instructions and flag any medical jargon, complex vocabulary, or sentences that might confuse someone without a healthcare background. 3. Request a rewritten version at a 6th-8th grade reading level that keeps all the clinical accuracy but uses simpler, everyday language. 4. Ask AI to review each exercise description and tell you if any safety warnings, precautions, or "when to stop" guidance is missing. 5. Have AI suggest one or two clarifying questions a confused patient might ask about each exercise, then add answers to those questions in your final version. 6. Review the AI-improved version yourself, make any final tweaks based on your clinical judgment, and print the patient-friendly version. Always verify that the clinical intent and safety guidelines remain intact before handing it to your patient.
